"darlling", you say, eh? Is this "darlling" as in the song darlling by the Wondermints? Or is this "darlling" as in the typographically incorrect version of "darling"? There's a subtle difference.
The Wondermints did publish their song with the title in all lowercase letters, so there's at least a chance you're referring to the song and the not the adjective. Being that you used "darlling" as a subjective complement, however, I'm inclined to believe you were striving for the adjective, got nervous, and inserted an extra 'l'.

But never mind all that. "Are you dating someone?" is the issue at hand. And I assume you're asking if I'm currently dating someone other than my hand. Right?
