seek-fun.com is the personal website of Chris "topher" LaVesser, self-proclaimed Goofball on Bowed Legs, because he is both a goofball and has bowed legs. topher uses this website to spin yarns, share photos, keep his Mom up to date, feign intelligence, and upset the union folk. Presently, it has no higher purpose.

Before you load your camera with film and go off trying some of the things you see or read on this website, please consider the following:
topher has undergone 2 orthopedic surgeries, has broken 12 bones (some in his spine), spent 4 months in a back brace, 3 months on crutches, 3 months in therapy, and eaten some bad hospital food.
As a result, topher has 5 surgical scars, 1 Gore-Tex® patch inside his abdomen, a titanium plate and 10 titanium screws in his left heel, 3 oddly-shaped vertebrae, one ear that doesn't match the other, permanent scars on his left buttock, and a Mom who can't sleep most nights.
There are costs associated with living a life less ordinary, and I haven't even mentioned the dollars and cents price tag of all the above.
Start small. Get proper instruction. Seek out mentors. Wear a helmet.
Why???
topher fancies himself a bit of an adventurer and lifelong learner. It started when he was born jaundiced in a hospital with no heat, in North Dakota in the middle of December. They put him under heat lamps (whether for the jaundice or the cold, we don't know) and ever since, he can't stop trying new things.
This idiosyncracy was later fueled with a big wheel and Dad's explanation of how light switches work, though not together, obviously. The need to have fun and understand things just grew and grew.
So today the website exists as a silly testimonial to what can happen when you get off the couch and play around, or turn off the TV and read a book.
There have been thrills 'n' spills. There have been friendships and heartbreaks. It's been interesting and fun, boring and frustrating. It's been in my back yard, in nasty places half a world away, and several spectacular places in between.
Thus far I'm loving it.
